“Connection: a relationship in which a person, thing, or idea is linked or associated with something else.”

That seems to be a very ordinary, common word, but I believe it’s a big one! HOW we connect with our club members is important and impacts our club on several levels; mainly by the sharing of information and the club’s exposure.  Getting out to the community how great NWCC is!

Our connections through technology have been fast growing over the years.  Our club’s memberships, whether a new member or renewals, are now done totally online, and through our Constant Contact e--mail it allows us the ability to reach all club members with important announcements and the notification of monthly club meetings.

Our fastest--growing way we connect now is through Social Media; i.e., Facebook.  Our Board of Directors, NWCC Race Team, and club members are now connecting more and more through Social Media. So what impact does the connection with Social Media have on the club?

Think about it… Through our Northwest Cycling Club Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/NorthwestCyclingClub we are able to instantly share information and reach thousands of people on an ongoing basis in our efforts to promote NWCC’s signature rides: The Bluebonnet Express, The Texas Ultra Spirit, The Texas State Time Trial ChampionshipThe Katy Flatland Century, and The Chappell Hill Road Race.  How might the connection with Social Media impact you?

Our Northwest Cycling Club Activities Group page, https://www.facebook.com/groups/NorthwestActivities, has 1400 members.  The purpose of this page is to share ongoing activities and events related to NWCC.  This has allowed members to reach out to one another in planning social weekday rides with one another; hence the loosely--termed “Wednesday Wheelers” social ride was born; the sharing of cycling tips, upcoming local rides, suggestions and support for fellow members regarding all things cycling and more!

So give Social Media a chance and connect with NWCC through Facebook.

Although I recognize the benefits that Social Media has in getting us all connected, there is NO better connection than being on a bike with friends!

Face time beats Facebook any day!

Make all your connections Fabulous ;)
