We roll every week at 7:30pm for a social ride that can be a workout by choice. We take a brief break during the Winter to run our Online Crit Series on Thursdays and resume the regular rides in March. You do not need to be a member of NWCC to join this ride. Rides are currently via meetup invitation, which means you have to be following the ride leader (Brent Neal) on Zwift. You can find him by searching for the username “Brent Neal – NWCC”. Add him on Zwift and then send him a message letting him know you’d like an invite for the week.
We ride with the rubber band on, meaning all riders stay together regardless of pace, power, or fitness. You can ride at ten Watts while someone else rides at eight hundred and the group will still stay together. You can also do structured workouts or free ride: it all works and you’ll still stay with the group.
Routes change each week. We also socialize on the NWCC Discord (a voice chat service) server. You can join that with this link: https://discord.gg/kcg8qGT (You’ll need to be in the NWCC voice channel to talk to others when we are riding.)

Event Details
This is a social, no-drop¹ group ride that takes place mostly on residential and suburban roads. The ride will have a casual pace so that riders can enjoy conversing, but to do any form of group riding you should be able to pace yourself at least around 12-14 mph / 19-23 kmh. If you’re slower than that, just let us know–no big deal. This ride will likely fall somewhere between a 12-16 mph average depending on the group.
The ride will generally be 17-20 miles (approximately), and we stop somewhere near the middle of the ride for a coffee break at Just Love Coffee² on the corner of Shaw and Sunset Canyon (usually around 11 or 12 miles into the ride). If you don’t want coffee or refreshments there, that’s fine, but we’ll stop long enough for those who want coffee to finish the cup and we’ll all hang out and be social for a mid-ride break. They do have some outdoor seating and a bike stand out front, although not enough for everyone if others are using it.
There are no restrooms open at Wildwood Elementary where we’ll begin, but the coffee shop where we’ll eventually take a mid-ride break is only a few hundred meters north of the school and is open before we roll out.
Helmets are required. You don’t need to be on a specific type of bike, so long as you can ride safely and keep with the group. New riders in the club, even those new to group riding, are welcome.
You can see an example of the approximate route on this Strava activity from when we were piloting the ride: https://www.strava.com/activities/5102341162
Questions? Reach out to Brent Neal or Chris Green.
¹ What does “no-drop” mean? The group or ride leader will not leave anyone behind, whether it is because the rider is struggling with pace (can’t keep up), has a flat tire, or anything else. We’ll wait up and make sure that everyone rides together.
