VP Memorial Day Ride - Monday May 29

Event Details

Start your Labor Day celebration by joining us for our VP Ride!
While Labor Day in most areas of the US is unofficially the end of Summer, for Northwest Cycling Club, it’s time for another VP ride. (As we know, summer doesn’t end in SE Texas until December!)
This year’s Labor Day VP ride will start from east parking lot at St Arnold Brewery, (2000 Lyons Ave, Houston TX 77020) at 8:00am. While there is plenty of parking at the Brewery, there won’t be access to bathrooms. The route is about 30 miles and the links from Strava & Ride with GPS are below.
The ride is very casual, and we’ll organize in pace groups of various speeds, including a NO DROP group. The route will be a trip around the city of Houston. We’ll head out east on Lyons Ave and turn south on Lockwood and head south to University of Houston. From there, we’ll head west along Brays Bayou and then head North to River Oaks and continue north along TC Jester. Finally, turn east and ride in the Heights before heading south back to St Arnold.
After we finish the ride, stick around at St Arnold Beer Garden. NWCC has reserved tables and we’ll pick up your first drink (Beer, Wine, Cider and to non-Alcoholic drinks), and we’ll order some appetizers. In addition, you can order whatever makes you happy from their great menu (your cost). It’s a great time to meet and mingle and trade cycling stories!  Members and non-members are welcome!
Finally, if you can’t make the ride, join us for the after party at St Arnold Brewery.
