Start time is 8.00 am. THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE RIDE – We will cancel only if there are thunderstorms or worse happening at ride start time. We will communicate that on our social media pages and the website if it becomes necessary to cancel.
The Zube Park rides are a great way to check out the club before you join. That’s because you don’t need to be a club member to come along for the ride.
We will have four official group rides leaving from Zube. Each group will have designated leaders from club membership, and our rides will roll out separately from the other groups that leave from Zube park–NWCC rides meet in the back lot (look for the NWCC flag). Riders are expected to abide by all traffic laws, wear a helmet, and refrain from using headphones/earbuds.
- The No/Low Drop Group with an approximate 13mph/21kph rolling average (which may vary based on wind, group, etc) that will ride a distance of roughly 25 miles/40 kilometers.
- This group is new-rider friendly, and teaches and reinforces group-riding skills, safety, and etiquette.
- The route may vary, but the common route for this ride can be seen here: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/66473025
- This ride leaders will be announced on the day.
- The 14-16 mph Group expects riders to have basic, requisite group riding skills (know how to ride safely in a pace line, communicate, rotate off the front, etc.) and most commonly rides a route that is slightly over 40 miles/64 km.
