NWCC Events

Our calendar is packed with EVENTS.  In addition to the Zube Rides, we have annual fundraising events and competitive races.

  • Bluebonnet Express (“BBX”)
    • This is a premier fundraising event for the club.
    • A highly recommended MS150 training ride to prepare riders for the 170-mile ride from Houston to Austin to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
    • Volunteer opportunities begin on Friday before the event, and continue through the day of the event (Sunday).
  • Texas Ultra Spirit (“TUS”)
    • A club-sponsored Ultra-Marathon racing event held in Fayetteville, TX, over a 2-day period (Friday-Saturday)
  • Texas State Time Trial Championship (“TXTTC”)
    • A club-sponsored, TXBRA Texas Cup, USAC-sanctioned racing event held in Hempstead, TX, over a weekend
    • Volunteer opportunities begin on Friday before the event, and continue through the day of the event.
  • Katy Flatlands Century (“KFC”)
    • This is a premier fundraising event for the club.
    • Volunteer opportunities begin on Friday before the event, and continue through the day of the event (Sunday).
  • Chappell Hill Road Race (“CHRR”)
    • A club-sponsored, TXBRA Texas Cup, USAC-sanctioned racing event held in Chappell Hill, TX - normally on second Sunday in September

Qualifying for Super Volunteer jersey:

  • Do at least one ride start.
  • Work an “all-day” position at all five events (BBX, TUS, TXTT, KFC, and CHRR).
    • “All-day” positions for BBX and KFC include every position except parking, day-of registration, and after-ride shed storage.
      • Exceptions:  if you work Sunday morning registration or parking shift and after-ride shed storage, that will count as an “all-day” position.  Also, if you work a combination of registration shifts on Friday/Saturday, that will count as an “all-day” position
    • For the TUS, TXTTC, and CHRR events, any position you volunteer for counts as an “all-day” position because these events are out of town.

Qualifying for Volunteer Appreciation Weekend (VAW):

  • 2 volunteer tasks (any combination):
    • Ride Starter
    • “All-day” position at one of the club-sponsored events.

Qualifying for HHH Bus Ride or Big Dam Bridge Registration Reimbursement:

  • 1 volunteer task
    • Ride Starter
    • “All-day” position at one of the club-sponsored events.

We appreciate your voluntary participation on these events.
