Northwest Cycling Club (NWCC) Board Roles
The elected officers of Northwest Cycling Club (NWCC) shall be the office of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The Board of Directors shall be composed of all elected NWCC officers, Chairpersons of all Standing Committees, the Immediate Past President of NWCC, and the NWCC Sponsor Representative. These are the roles and responsibilities for board members.
Role of NWCC Board President:
- Preside over board meetings and member meetings, set meeting agendas, and guide overall board operations and committee work;
- Ensure the club and corporation adhere to bylaws, legal duties, and the core mission.
- Help shape the long-term vision and strategic direction of the organization;
- Represent the nonprofit publicly and help drive fundraising and community engagement; and
- Perform specific duties set forth in the corporate bylaws.
- May set forth procedures as may be appropriate under proposed membership terminations to ensure fairness to both NWCC and to the member subject to termination;
- May call special member meetings;
- May determine whether proxies and participation by remote communication are permitted for General Meetings;
- May call special board meetings;
- May fill any vacancy during the term of any office by appointment with the concurrence of the Board of Directors;
- May establish any number of Special Committees for any special purpose;
- Shall have authority to sign checks drawn on NWCC accounts; and
- Shall have the power to establish policies and procedures as needed for the implementation of the Final Budget.
Approximate Hours Spent:
Monthly: 10 hours
BBX/KFC: at least 40 hours
Role of NWCC Secretary:
- Provide slide deck to board members in advance of monthly board meetings
- Attend board meetings, club meetings, and other club events
- Volunteer all day at BBX and KFC
- Help provide raffle items for monthly club meetings
- Create sign-in sheets for monthly club meetings
- Greet members and hand out drink tickets and raffle tickets at club meetings
- Assist other board members with various duties
Approximate Hours Spent:
Monthly: 5 hours
BBX/KFC: at least 12 hours
Role of NWCC Volunteer Coordinator:
- Create and maintain signups in Signup Genius for Zube refreshments and no-drop leaders
- Recruit volunteers for Zube refreshments and no-drop leaders via Facebook, club meetings, and at Zube rides
- Coordinate with BBX and KFC ride directors for volunteer needs
- Create and maintain signups in Signup Genius for BBX and KFC volunteers
- Volunteer all day at BBX and KFC rides
- Attend monthly board meetings, club meetings, and other club events
- Coordinate volunteer rewards with club treasurer and ScudoPro
- Maintain list of Zube volunteers for quarterly drawings
Approximate Hours Spent:
Monthly: 5 hours
BBX/KFC: 24 hours
