Budget passed!

Nearly fifty people attended our general meeting on February 10th and passed the 2024 budget, which means we will be implementing all the member benefits noted recently and listed at the bottom of this email.

Join in the fun – see bbx.bike.

We depend almost exclusively on our two signature rides for our funding. Thank you to those who have signed up for SAG, nine slots are still open: Johnny Grimes, Ken Kuntz, Larry Rumburg, Mike Lytle, Pete Eichelberger, and Steve Green. Many others have also volunteered. Thank you! If you haven’t, please sign up at bit.ly/2024BBXVOLS. Roles that allow for you to ride (and get reimbursed) still remain. Out of town or otherwise occupied the weekend of April 21st? You just might be the first to sign up for Katy Flatland Express volunteering, bit.ly/2024KFCVOLS, tentatively planned for July 21st.

Zube no drop and refreshments

My apologies to the 30 hardy souls who showed up at Zube on an exceedingly windy day 2/17 to find no confirmed NWCC volunteers to help. Fortunately members Al Cisne and James Monroig stepped in to help. Historically, NWCC has supported the Saturday Zube tradition by providing refreshments, a ride start, and a no-drop leader for new riders. Right now many of the members who have been signing up to bring food and lead the no-drop are riding in the Ready2Roll training series. Can you fill in some of the gaps? We’ll add you to the quarterly $250 Zube volunteer raffle plus no-drop leaders may be eligible for discounts on the Varia RCT715 bike radar with camera.
