As I write this, we are six days away from the first of our annual rides, the Bluebonnet Express (BBX), which will go on Sunday April 23.  Regrettably, we are still begging for volunteers to fill the twelve slots that remain open.  All the positions need to be filled so that we can run our usual successful operation so, if you have some available time on Sunday, please help us out for a few hours and sign up for a position here:

In better news, a member of the public donated a TT bike to us a couple of months ago; he hoped that the bike would go to a good use, and it certainly did.  Our David Harman, former VP and a man who knows about bikes and beer, worked his magic and sold it for $1250, and waived his “seller’s fee” to boot.  As a result, we were able to donate $750 to Carl Jones and the junior program he so successfully runs at Alkek Velodrome on Saums Road in the hope that it will go some way to keeping the program afloat.  The remaining $500 will go to a charity to be announced in May.

Our next club meeting will be at Senate Avenue Brewing, as per the April meeting, on May 6 at 2.30 pm.  This venue is working out well for us, so come along, let us buy you a drink, and listen to our news.  Bring guests too!  We try to get the “business” part of the meeting started at 3.

Now that we are back to weather more conducive to riding bikes (let’s not mention the wind!) and more riders are appearing at Zube, we hope to refresh the list of grub and drinks bringers and No Drop ride leaders.  If you’re a regular at Zube, please help us out, even if it’s just once, by signing up on the link near the bottom of the website’s home page.

A quick reminder here that our kit provider ScudoPro will be at the BBX ride start on Sunday with fit kits and samples so that you can try on kit to ensure the right fit.

Finally, good luck to all who are riding in the Texas MS 150 at the end of this month.  Ride strong!  I’ll see you out there!
