We’re nine days past the club’s BlueBonnet Express (BBX) and two past the MS150 weekend, both great events in the Houston cycling calendar.  A huge thanks to the BBX Ride Director, Carl Grasshoff, and his small army of volunteers, many of whom volunteered in at least two positions, who delivered an excellent ride for us all, despite what the weather had to say about it.  Weather, never trust it around these parts!  And well done anyone who rode any distance at all on Day 1 of this year’s MS Ride; this ancient mariner knows how wind affects stuff, whether you’re riding a bike, driving a vehicle or messing about on a ship.  The word “brutal” has been used by many of us, but Day 2?  A doddle on a sunny Sunday morning!

The May club meeting is at Senate Avenue Brewing, 16000 Dillard Drive, Jersey Village on Saturday May 6, with us gathering up after 2.30 pm, the news at 3 pm; a drink and snacks are on the house.  We’ll celebrate the BBX volunteers and give a shout to those who rode the MS Ride.  Come along and enjoy an afternoon with friends, old and new.  We’re working on the weather!

And don’t forget, the website has all our news and events listed, with the ticker on the home page rolling with any updated news.  Here’s the link:  https://nwcc.bike/

See you soon!
